FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
DO YOU ONLY DYE YARN?
Not at all. We also dye roving for spinning and are working on a new area of colourful dyeing which we hope to launch soon.
DO YOU ALWAYS HAVE STOCK ON HAND?
As a small independent dye studio, we do not have great stocks of dyed yarn just sitting around. We do carry several skeins of each colour but most times we will have to dye to order. If we have to dye your yarn, the delay will only be a few days before it is shipped out.
ARE THESE THE ONLY COLOURS YOU DYE?
Not at all. We have a massive back catalogue of colour ways. Not all of them made the site - we are limiting the number on the site for ease of use. We will update the site from time to time, adding new colour and removing colour that aren't as popular as others. If you find us at the Magpie Markets at Lawson, you will also find lots of colour ways that we accidently created but decided not to add to our catalogue plus those that haven't made the site.
ARE ALL THE COLOUR WAY SKEINS EXACT COPIES?
No. By the very act of hand dyeing, there are always variations in the finished skeins of yarn. While they will all look similar and you will know they are from the same colour way, the will all be different. We suggest that if you have a large project, that you order all the skeins you will need at the same time. Ask us for tips for working with hand dyed yarns.
WILL YOU BE ADDING ANY OTHER COLOURS TO THE SITE?
Yes, definitely. Part of the joy of being an independent dyer is the creation of new colours. We will be sending out an email to all subscribers when we update the site. So please remember to subscribe from the link on the home page.
ARE THE COLLECTION COLOUR WAYS AVAILABLE ELSEWHERE?
No. For the 3 months of their lifetime, they will be exclusively available on the website. The collections will be updated every 3 months. Any stock we have on hand will probably make their way to the markets.
WHAT DO YOU DYE WITH?
We dye with commercial grade acid dyes set with citric acid and heat.
WHERE DO YOU SHIP TO?
We ship domestically and worldwide via Australia Post.
DO YOU TAKEÂ RETAIL ORDERS?
